  • Where are Apposta shirts made?

We make all of our shirts in a factory in the Marche region of Italy. The factory has working partnerships with some of the world's best fabric suppliers which stretch back for generations.

  • Do you have stores in my city?

We have no physical stores. Apposta has always been an online-only brand which delivers worldwide. Our lack of physical stores coupled with our direct-to-consumer business model means that customers can expect to pay considerably less for premium quality custom-made Italian shirts.

  • What kind of fabrics do you use to make your shirts?

We have an inventory of over 4,000 premium quality fabrics sourced from some of the world’s most prestigious suppliers. Many of our relationships with these fabric suppliers have existed for generations.

All of the fabrics offered by Apposta are certified by Oeko-Tex®, an association which is responsible for ensuring human and ecological safety requirements regarding textile articles throughout the entire production process. Click here for more information.

  • Can you help me to find a specific fabric?

If you are not able to find a specific fabric, click here to contact us and we will do our best to help you find what you are looking for.

  • Can I request a fabric sample?

We offer over 4,000 different fabrics types and though we do not send samples out in order to minimise waste and emissions, you can contact our expert customer service team to discuss fabrics by clicking here.

  • I have a special collar style, can you replicate it?

For special shirt design requests, contact our expert customer service team by clicking here.

Once your request has been assessed they will contact you with more information.

  • Is it possible to customise a shirt that I see on the website?

Yes, all of the shirts that you can see on our website can be customised at no extra cost. This includes the fabric, design features and monogramming. For instructions on how to do this click here.

  • How long does it take to make a shirt?

From initial order to completion, it takes our expert shirtmakers just two weeks to make each shirt. This is unique for custom-made shirt production. Every order (made to measure and standard size) is managed separately from all others and we create a specific pattern for each shirt.

We send an email once an order is in production with the expected date of shipment.

  • I need the order for a special event. Can you guarantee the shipment date?

From initial order to completion, it takes our expert shirtmakers just two weeks to make each shirt. This is unique for custom-made shirt production. If you need a shirt for a specific date we recommend that you order further in advance should you need alterations. This will also give you more time to receive the delivery.

  • How do I insert measurements on the website?

It is possible to create measurements profiles before you begin the process of creating a shirt. To do this, log in to your account then click on your name on the right-hand section of the website’s blue top bar. From the drop down menu, select ‘Measurements Profiles’ where you can insert your measurements.

Alternatively you will be given the opportunity to create a measurements profile (or select a standard size) just before adding your order to the basket during the shirt making process.

Measurements can be taken on your body, on an existing shirt or you can customize a standard size (using the standard size as a starting reference).
Measurements profiles are saved and can be used to make other shirts.

For instructions on how to take measurements on the body click here.
For instructions on how to take measurements from another shirt click here.

  • How do I modify an existing measurement profile?

Go to your measurements profile. This is located in the drop down menu which appears when you click your name on the right-hand side of the website’s blue top bar. Click ‘Edit’ to update your measurements and then ‘Save’ once you’ve inputted your changes.

Changes will only be reflected on new orders and orders in the shopping cart. If you need to change measurement details of a shirt which is in production see the ‘About Placing Orders’ section of the FAQ page.

  • What is the difference between body measurements and shirt measurements?

If you supply us with measurements taken on the body, we will add additional centimetres/inches of fabric at the chest, waist and cuffs of your shirt, depending on the type of fitting chosen. For instructions on how to take measurements on the body click here.

If you supply us with measurements from a shirt which you already own, your finished shirt will have measurements exactly the same as those inputted into your measurements profile. For instructions on how to take measurements from another shirt click here.

  • I have a shirt which fits me, how can I copy the style and fit?

Our cloning service can replicate aspects of a shirt that you already own. Find out how to have us clone a shirt by clicking here.

  • Do your shirts have size limits?

Due to technical limitations it is possible that garments with very large or very small measurements cannot be manufactured. In this eventuality we will inform you and provide a full refund.

The size ranges which we are able to accommodate are as follows:

    Chest: 75cm - 180cm
    Waist: 65cm - 180cm
    Shoulders: 35cm - 65cm

  • How do I place an order?

Alternatively you can design your own shirt starting with the fabric, choosing the rest of the design details as you go along. In both cases you only pay for the initial cost of the shirt or fabric, with all customisations included in this initial price.

  • How can I see the status of my order?

You will receive a notification email with the expected dispatch date when we start to produce your order. Then we will email you again once the order is ‘ready to ship’ and ‘shipped’.

  • Which couriers does Apposta use?

Apposta uses UPS for all countries apart from the UK. In the UK we use DPD and DHL primarily for returns.

  • How long does it take to ship my order?

The express couriers that we use to ship orders deliver within two working days throughout Europe and within four working days throughout the rest of the world.

Shipping may sometimes be delayed for reasons beyond Apposta’s control.

The courier will deliver to the address stated in the original order, so it is preferable to give an address where someone will be available to physically receive the order.

  • What countries do you ship to?

Apposta ships to anywhere in the world.

  • How do I track my order?

You will receive a separate email with a tracking reference from the courier service which you can use to track your order.

  • The UPS tracking number is not updated or not working.

We ship multiple orders together to a UPS international logistics hub in France to reduce emissions and lessen our environmental impact. When individual orders leave our Italian factory, they are sent as part of a single shipment, so customers cannot track individual orders at this stage.

Once the group of orders reaches the UPS international logistics hub in France, individual orders will be sorted and entered into the system. At this point your tracking will begin to update along with the expected delivery date.

  • Do I need to pay duties?

For deliveries outside of the European Union and the UK, customs duties and taxes may apply. The courier will ask for these before delivery. Those amounts depend on the applicable rules of the destination country at the time the package is received and are beyond Apposta’s control.

  • I live in the UK, do I have to pay duties?

Our UK customers do not have to pay duties. Our shirts are made in Italy but Apposta is a British company. All the orders are shipped by DPD courier to your address. No extra or hidden costs will be requested by either the courier or Apposta.

  • Can I change my shipping address?

Yes, but only if the order hasn’t been shipped yet. Contact our customer service team by clicking here.

  • I only received part of my order.

If you have only received part of your order, this may be because there has been an issue with the other part of your order (such as a fabric delay or a defect) which means that we have shipped the completed part of your order ahead of the remainder.

In the case that we have only shipped part of your order, you will receive subsequent items as soon as they are ready and you will not be charged for the separate shipments.

For a detailed update on your order, contact our customer service team by clicking here.

  • Where is my order shipped from?

Every Apposta shirt is made in our Italian factory. From there shirts are shipped together to a logistics hub in France which sorts the packages by destination country and directs them to their final location.

  • Apposta’s perfect-fit guarantee means that we take responsibility for ensuring that customers are completely satisfied with every shirt that they receive.

As part of this perfect-fit guarantee we will resolve any of the following problems at our expense. This applies to all shirts whether they are made for your own measurements or ordered in a standard size.

When there are problems shirts will be modified if possible. Otherwise, they will be remade. In both cases the customer will not be charged.
